Abstract:
A packet reception apparatus (3) receives a plurality of types of packets that are to be classified according to categories including at least one of the content of request information from a transmission side, the type of packet transmission format and the video data compression scheme. A plurality of buffers (B-1, B-2) assort the plurality of types of received packets according to the types thereof and store the plurality of types of received packets as assorted. A packet extraction unit (15) extracts, according to a packet processing condition table (8), packets stored in the plurality of buffers (B-1, B-2). Packet arithmetic processing units (16, 17) perform arithmetic processings of the packets extracted by the packet extraction unit (15).
