The present application relates to the technical field of communications. Disclosed are a packet transmission method, apparatus and system, a network device, and a storage medium. The method comprises: receiving, by a first network device, an IP packet; and adding instruction information to the IP packet and sending same, wherein the instruction information is for instructing to add processing information to an error packet corresponding to the IP packet; the processing information is used for indicating a processing manner of the error packet; the error packet is generated by a second network device when the IP packet reaches a corresponding maximum hop count. According to the method, processing information used for indicating a processing manner of the error packet can be carried in an error packet corresponding to the IP packet, so that the first network device can process the error packet according to the processing information.
