Abstract:
A packing material (1) capable of using a uniformly shaped lid member (3) to immobilize odd-number-side and even-number-side items (W) to be packed, when alternatingly arranging an odd number of items (W) to be packed so as to face one direction, and an even number of items (W) to be packed so as to face the opposite direction. When the lid member (3) contacts a support-immobilization part (S) of the odd-number-side items (W) to be packed, the lid member (3) does not contact the even-number-side items (W) to be packed, and when the lid member (3) contacts a support-immobilization part (S) of the even-number-side items (W) to be packed, the lid member (3) does not contact the odd-number-side items (W) to be packed. The lid member (3) has the following formed therein: a first engaging recess (16A) for engaging the support-immobilization part (S) of the odd-number-side items (W) to be packed, and a second engaging recess (16B) for engaging the support-immobilization part (S) of the even-number-side items (W) to be packed.
