Abstract:
A padlock comprises a lock body (2), a U-shaped shackle (1), and a steel ball (4). The shackle (1) is provided with an engagement recess (10) corresponding to the steel ball (4). The padlock further comprises a rotary pin (3) and a driving mechanism (5) located in the lock body (2). The rotary pin (3) has a protruding portion (32) for restraining the steel ball (4) inside the engagement recess (10) and a gap portion (31) for providing a space for the steel ball to disengage from the engagement recess (10). A lower end of the rotary pin (3) has a pivoting arm (34) extending towards the driving mechanism. The driving mechanism (5) is coordinated with the pivoting arm (34) to drive the rotary pin (3) to rotate from a locked position in which the protruding portion (32) faces the steel ball (4) to an unlocked position in which the gap portion (31) faces the steel ball (4), so as to allow the steel ball (4) to be entirely separated from the engagement recess (10). An elastic retaining portion (3t) for retaining the rotary pin (3) in the locked position is arranged between the rotary pin (3) and the lock body (2). Locking or unlocking the padlock is achieved by controlling the protruding portion (32) or the gap portion (31) of the rotary pin (3) to face the steel ball (4).
