Abstract:
Disclosed are a paging method and device capable of obtaining a paging parameter for paging a terminal device, paging the terminal device based on the paging parameter, and thus rapidly and effectively paging the terminal device. The method comprises: a first access network device acquiring, in a first time period, a first paging parameter set for paging a terminal device, wherein the first time period is a time period before the terminal device changes from a connected state to a light connected state, and the first access network device is an access network device to which the terminal device is connected last time and before entering the light connected state or an idle state; or the first access network device acquiring, in a second time period, a first paging parameter set for paging the terminal device, wherein the terminal device is in the light connected state or the idle state in the second time period; and the first access network device generating, based on the first paging parameter set, a paging message for the terminal device and sending the paging message.
