Description:
PAINTBRUSH CLEANING DEVICE

OBJECT OF THE INVENTION

The present invention lies within the technical field of brushes, as well as that of home cleaning or washing, and it particularly relates to a device for cleaning paintbrushes, thin paintbrushes and similar elements.

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION

To proceed with the cleaning of paintbrushes, thin paintbrushes and similar elements after the use thereof, it is common to begin rinsing with abundant amounts of water, a process that is repeated several times until completely eliminating the residue adhered to the bristles of said elements, which usually consist of foam, soap or paint. Lastly, the brush is wrung out, preferably by squeezing, to eliminate the water left over from cleaning.

In the current state of the art there are known devices such as the one described in patent US8763271 , which corresponds to a cleaning tool for paintbrushes held by means of a directly placed socket, which wrings out the paintbrush, and as a support it is placed on the handle of another device. However, the present invention enables the bristles to be cleaned in an easy and practical way by means of the design thereof.

Unlike the device proposed by the aforementioned patent, made up of two separate elements, the present invention performs the cleaning task in a single container into which water is directly poured. The paint residue is eliminated by using two rollers and the bristles are simultaneously wrung, removing the residue from the paintbrush so that it can be used again or stored.

Patent number US5185938 consists of a device that functions be means of manual torque. It has a wood box into which the paintbrush is inserted, the handle of the paintbrush being exposed, and through manual motion the brush is cleaned against a roller.

On the other hand, the present invention is a device with the dual function of cleaning and wringing, directly pouring the water inside the same, unlike the device shown in the aforementioned patent, which is limited in its operation due to the existence of only one roller. DESCRIPTION OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a compact device, made of plastic or other similar materials, intended to clean different types of paintbrushes.

The device is made up of a container which includes two fixed rollers which are provided with a mechanism for rotating, one made of a sponge material or similar for water absorption and the other made of silicone or another similar material, made up of bristles or similar elements, which release the paint residue from the paintbrush.

The container has a lid for closure on the upper part of the vessel, through which the water is inserted. On the lower part of the container there is an opening provided with a flexible washer and adjusted with rubber or a similar material, through which the part with the bristles of the paintbrush is inserted, and which simultaneously holds the handle of the paintbrush during the cleaning thereof and prevents the water from leaking out of the container.

An object of the present invention is to quickly clean paintbrushes using little water.

Another object of the present invention is the fact that the device has rollers for cleaning the paintbrushes.

DESCRIPTION OF THE DRAWINGS

As a complement to the description provided herein and for the purpose of helping to make the characteristics of the invention more readily understandable, in accordance with a preferred practical embodiment thereof, said description is accompanied by a set of drawings constituting an integral part of the same, which by way of illustration and not limitation represents the following:

Figure 1 shows a front schematic view of the device object of the invention.

Figure 2 shows a view of a transverse cross section of Figure 1 , wherein the inner components of the device can be seen.

Figure 3 shows an upper plan view of the device.

Figure 4 shows a lower plan view of the device.

PREFERRED EMBODIMENT OF THE INVENTION

What follows is a detailed description, with the help of the figures referenced above, of an exemplary embodiment of the object of the present invention.

The paintbrush cleaning device herein described, schematically shown in Figure 1 , comprises an outer casing (1 ), hollow and closed and which, in this preferred embodiment, is made of plastic, the casing (1 ) wherein an upper through hole (2) is defined, wherein clean water enters to the inside of the casing (1 ), and a lower through hole (3) is defined, intended to allow for the passage therethrough of paintbrushes to the inside of the casing (1 ).

In the preferred embodiment herein described, the upper through hole (2) incorporates a removable lid (4) for closure, and the lower through hole (3) is provided with holding means (5) of the paintbrush, which in this case consists of a perimeter washer made of rubber or a similar flexible material.

On the inside of the casing (1 ) intended to house a volume of water for soaking the bristles of the paintbrushes inserted in the lower through hole (3), there is a first shaft (6) and a second shaft (7), transversally located, parallel to each other and rotational, which are manually actuated, on which rollers are coaxially arranged.

As shown in Figure 2, a first roller (8), which is a sponge in this first preferred embodiment, is coaxially and firmly mounted to the first shaft (6). Likewise, a second roller (9), which has silicone bristles in this preferred embodiment, is coaxially and firmly mounted to the second shaft (7). Both shafts (6,7) rotate in opposite directions.

Lower channels (10) extend from the perimeter edge of the lower through hole (3) toward the inside of the casing (1 ) to guide the paintbrushes to the rollers (8,9).
