The present invention discloses a palatal expander capable of expanding the palate by exceeding maximum expansion width allowed by an expansion screw. The palatal expander, according to the present invention, comprises: a left-side body capable of adjusting width in the right and left directions; a right-side body provided at the right side of the left-side body and capable of adjusting width in the right and left directions; and a first expansion screw for connecting the left-side body and the right-side body and adjusting the right and left space between the left-side body and the right-side body. According to the present invention, it is possible to solve the problems such as the inconvenience of fabricating a plurality of palatal expanders having an extension screw with a different length, respectively, and sequentially applying replacement so as to expand upper palate having a narrow width and the increase of treatment costs, and adjusting for expansion width having left and right asymmetry is also possible. Therefore, when rapid palate expansion is required, sufficient palate expansion as required can be achieved without any additional fabrication or replacement treatment of the palate expander.
