Abstract:
Disclosed are a palmitoyl dipeptide in which glycylproline or glycylhydroxyproline is bonded to palmitic acid, and a production method therefor. The production method for palmitoyl dipeptide of the present invention comprises: a peptide coupling step in which a dipeptide is produced by the peptide coupling of glycine with proline or hydroxyproline; and a palmitoyl reaction step in which a palmitoyl dipeptide is produced by the amide bonding of palmitic acid to the dipeptide. In this way, the prolidase mechanism is activated and hence the production of proline is promoted, and ultimately the recycling of proline is promoted such that it is possible to selectively increase the renewal of collagen in senescent cells within tissue.
