Abstract:
Provided are a paper diaper treating device and a paper diaper treating method with which it is possible to efficiently treat for disposal a used paper diaper including a liquid content. The paper diaper treating device is provided with at least: a water supply section 5 which supplies a polymer absorbent material 26 covered by surface materials 22, 23 of a paper diaper 20 with supply water W having an osmotic pressure lower than that of a liquid to be treated the polymer absorbent material 26 has absorbed therein; a separating section 10 which includes a fragmentation section 13 for separating, from the surface materials 22, 23, the polymer absorbent material 26 that has been supplied with the supply water W in the water supply section 5; and a treatment section 31 which supplies the polymer absorbent material 26 that has been separated from the surface materials 22, 23 in the separating section 10 with an additive solution having an osmotic pressure higher than that of the liquid to be treated the polymer absorbent material 26 has absorbed therein.
