Abstract:
A paper feed roller (21) is rotated in a paper feed direction in response to a printer start instruction after a paper feed cassette (40) is loaded in the printer to feed recording paper into the printer. Since the paper feed cassette is inserted in the printer at the paper feed opening side thereof and has no other opening, excellent light-shielding and moisture-proofing properties are ensured for recording paper. The paper feed roller is reversely rotated immediately after power-on, immediately after loading of the paper feed cassette and/or immediately before paper feed start to return the recording paper to a specified paper feed start position, thereby preventing duplicated feeding and jamming of the recording paper. On completion of printing, the paper feed roller is rotated reversely to return half-fed recording paper to the paper feed start position, so that sheets of recording paper are kept in a close contact condition, light-shielded and moisture-proofed.
