Abstract:

A paper feed device is provided with an outer cover body (1), a conveyance section which conveys sheets (40) of paper in the conveyance direction (11), and a detection section (3) which has detection devices (30, 31) for detecting information sections (41, 42) printed on the sheets (40) of paper. The detection section (3) is provided with a support frame (32) which supports the detection devices (30, 31), a guide rail (33) which is provided to the support frame (32) and which guides the movement of the detection devices (30, 31), and a movement mechanism (35) which is mounted to both the outer cover body (1) and the support frame (32) and which extracts and inserts the support frame (32) from and into the outer cover body (1) by moving the support frame (32). When detecting the sheets (40) of paper conveyed from the conveyance section (2), the support frame (32) can be received inside the outer cover body (1), and when moving the detection device (30, 31) along the guide rail (33), the support frame (32) can be extracted to the outside of the outer cover body (1).
