Abstract:
The present invention is provided with: folding mechanisms (11, 15, 24) that are disposed at respective folding positions (A to C) on a transport path 1; guides (8, 19, 20, 28, 29) against which one side edge or both side edges of transported paper (P) is made to abut, thus positioning the paper with respect to the folding positions; stoppers (12, 16, 25) against which a front end of the transported paper is made to abut, thus stopping the paper at the folding positions in a positioned manner; a fold-shift detection unit (50) that detects a fold shift of the paper at each of the folding positions; and a controller (42) that controls the positions of the guides and the stoppers. Each time the number of detection data items received from the fold-shift detection unit reaches a predetermined number of samples at each of the folding positions, the controller calculates an average value of fold shifts at each of the folding positions by using the detection data items corresponding to the number of samples and adjusts the positions of the guide(s) and/or the stopper that are/is involved in the corresponding folding position, in order to correct a fold shift corresponding to the average value.
