Abstract:

Disclosed is a paper-media weighing device that, without the device as a whole needing to be larger, can accurately weigh mail transported in in a standing orientation. The disclosed paper-media weighing device is provided with: a first handling means that clamps paper media transported in via a transport path and stops the movement of the paper media at a prescribed position in a standing orientation; and a weighing means that weighs the paper media stopped at the prescribed position. The paper media weighed by the weighing means are sent outside from the aforementioned prescribed position by the first handling means.
