Abstract:
This paper medium value imparting system includes an authentication server, an authentication requester terminal for acquiring an image feature value of a first paper medium, and a management computer which manages paper medium information, including image feature values and value information of each of one or more paper media. The image feature values represent a physical property unique to a paper, generated during the process of producing said paper. The authentication server determines whether or not a first paper medium is registered in the paper medium information on the basis of the result of comparing an image feature value of the first paper medium received from the authentication requester terminal and the image feature value included in the paper medium information received from the management computer, performs authentication processing of the first paper medium on the basis of the determination result and, if the authentication processing is successful, acquires value information corresponding to the first paper medium from the paper medium information and performs processing based on the acquired value information to guarantee the value of the first paper medium.
