Abstract:
A paper sheet advance device (10) is provided with: a kicker roller (16) which makes contact with the surface of the front-most paper sheet among the paper sheets in a stacked state and which kicks out the front-most paper sheet; a feed roller (12) which makes contact with the surface of the paper sheet kicked out by the kicker roller (16) and advances the paper sheet; a gate roller (14) which is provided so as to face the feed roller (12) and which forms a gate section (G) relative to the feed roller (12), the gate section (G) separating paper sheets, which are advanced by the feed roller (12), into single paper sheets; and a pressing section (20) disposed behind the kicker roller (16) relative to the paper sheet advance direction and pressing paper sheets, which are in the stacked state, in the direction opposite the direction in which the paper sheets face the kicker roller (16).
