Abstract:
A paper sheet cutter drive device provided with a cutter moved by a direct current (DC) motor, the device improving the throughput of an apparatus on which the paper sheet cutter drive device is mounted. The paper sheet cutter drive device is provided with: a DC motor (15); a cutter (13) moved, by the rotation of the DC motor (15) in a predetermined direction, between a cutting position and a non-cutting position including the home position and cutting a paper sheet; an HP detection sensor (18) for detecting that the cutter (13) is at the home position; a braking time memory section (313) in which the braking time of the DC motor (15) is memorized; and a motor drive control unit (19) for stopping the drive of the DC motor (15) by performing braking operation for the braking time. The paper sheet cutter drive device is also provided with a braking time change means (311) for changing the braking time, and the braking time change means (311) changes the braking time on the basis of the result of detection by the HP detection sensor (18) performed as the result of the execution of braking operation by the motor drive control unit (19).
