Abstract:

The present invention is able to reduce a load acting on a feeding roller and smoothly feed paper sheets with the addition of a simple configuration in the case where a very large load from a large number of paper sheets acts on the feeding roller and in the case where paper sheets of different sizes are mixed together and loaded. The present invention comprises: a paper sheet loading unit 5 having a bottom plate 10 and a front wall 20; a feeding roller 30 that contacts the bottom surface of a paper sheet that is bottommost in a stack of paper sheets and rotates, thereby feeding the paper sheet to outside the paper sheet loading unit; and a load adjusting member 60 that is disposed so as to be able to freely protrude into the inside of the paper sheet loading unit and be retracted to outside the paper sheet loading unit. The load acting on the feeding roller from the stack of paper sheets is reduced by pressing the front side surface of the stack of paper sheets using a pressing surface of the load adjusting member when the same is protruding in order to cause the front side surface of the stack of paper sheets to be displaced inward, and by allowing the load from the stack of paper sheets to be received by the pressing surface.
