Abstract:
In this paper sheet processing device, an accumulation unit (21) accumulates paper sheets conveyed by a conveyance unit (15) and aligns the paper sheets such that the surfaces of neighboring sheets come into contact with one another. An identification unit (13) identifies the front/back and the orientation of the paper sheets conveyed by the conveyance unit (15). On the basis of the front/back and the orientation that were identified, a control unit (30) classifies the paper sheets into multiple types having different thickness distributions, manages the quantity of paper sheets, per type, that have accumulated in the accumulation unit (21), and determines whether to permit the accumulation of a paper sheet into the accumulation unit (21) on the basis of the type to which the paper sheet belongs and the quantity of sheets, per type, accumulated in the accumulation unit (21).
