Abstract:
In order to prevent paper sheets from being wound on a winding roller in such a manner that the paper sheets are biased to substantially the same position on the winding roller, a paper sheet storing and advancing device is provided with: the winding roller for winding and rewinding a paper sheet together with a tape; a reel for winding and rewinding the tape back to the winding roller; a drive source for rotating the winding roller; a sensor for detecting a paper sheet conveyed to the device; and a control unit which operates in such a manner that, when the device stores a paper sheet conveyed thereto, if the paper sheet is detected by the sensor, the control unit controls the drive source to perform control which accelerates the winding roller in the winding direction and then decelerates the winding roller, the control of the drive source by the control unit being performed each time a paper sheet conveyed to the device is detected, and also in such a manner that the control unit controls the drive source to change the length of the tape, which is used to contain in the device a single paper sheet, to control the storage interval of paper sheets which are to be contained in the device, the storage interval being controlled to either of at least two storage intervals.
