Abstract:
Provided is a paper transport mechanism that can correct curling of paper portions pulled from a paper roll, according to the strength of the curling. This paper transport mechanism (1), which transports paper portions from a paper roll (R) formed by long paper wound into a roll shape, comprises: an ironing part (S) that makes contact with the outer surface (Po) of a paper portion (P) passing thereby and corrects the curling of the paper portion (P); a pressing part that presses the paper portion (P) from one side and bends the paper portion (P) with the ironing part (S); and an arm member (6) that operates by abutting on the outer peripheral surface (R1) of the paper roll (R) and follows the change in the roll diameter of the paper roll (R). An upstream-side pressing part (F1) moves from one side toward the other side in conjunction with the arm member (6) for at least part of the time that the arm member (6) is operating, such that as the roll diameter becomes smaller, the magnitude of the ironing angle α of the paper portion (P) bent by the ironing part (S) also becomes smaller.
