Abstract:
The present invention relates to a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing hypertension or a food composition, both of which contain, as an active ingredient, a peptide isolated from a fraction of less than 5 kDa of a Paralichthys olivaceus muscle hydrolysate. Since a fraction of each molecular weight of a Paralichthys olivaceus muscle hydrolysate and a peptide isolated from the fraction have an angiotensin I converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitory activity, the peptides isolated from the fraction of a Paralichthys olivaceus muscle hydrolysate can be used in a pharmaceutical composition for treating or preventing hypertension or in a food composition.
