Abstract:
The present invention relates to a parallel rotating wing-type vertical axis wind turbine that obtains electricity using naturally-occurring wind as a power source, and more particularly, to a parallel rotating wing-type vertical axis wind turbine which has a plurality of parallel rotating wings radially installed on a vertical central axis, wherein a tendency to rotate due to wind is mechanically transferred to a fixing support by means of a stopper for preventing the rotation of the rotating wings, and the vertical central axis is rotated so as to rotate: a large driving gear connected to and installed on the vertical central axis; a small driven gear engaged to the large driving gear at a certain gear ratio; and a generator at high speed, so as to provide highly efficient electrical power. Accordingly, the present invention enables development of the parallel rotating wing-type vertical axis wind turbine, which not only enables rotation in any direction, regardless of the direction in which the wind blows, which is an advantage of vertical axis wind turbines, but also largely improves generating efficiency by minimizing resistance to wind in the reverse direction, which is the greatest drawback, and further enables mechanical stability to be maintained by preventing damage from excessive winds such as typhoons and squalls.
