Abstract:
A parameter measuring device and method for polymetallic nodules. The device comprises: a measuring cup body (10); a sealing cover (20) covering the measuring cup body (10); a drying device (30), the measuring cup body (10) being placed on the drying device (30), and the drying device (30) being used for drying a sample of polymetallic nodules to be measured in the measuring cup body (10); a weighting device (40), wherein the measuring cup body (10), the sealing cover (20), and the drying device (30) are all placed on the weighing device (40); a water supply and drainage pipe (50) used for injecting water into the measuring cup body (10) or discharging the water from the measuring cup body (10), wherein a first flow meter (70) and a water supply and drainage pump (80) are mounted on the water supply and drainage pipe (50), and the water supply and drainage pipe (50) is connected to a water tank (90); and an overflow pipe (60) communicated with an inner cavity of the measuring cup body (10), the overflow pipe (60) being used for enabling excess water to overflow, and a second flow meter (100) being provided on the overflow pipe (60). The parameter measuring device and method can measure the dry density, wet density, and water content of the polymetallic nodules, the operation is simple, and the measurement result is high in accuracy and precision; and the whole device can be powered by using a battery or an alternating current power source for convenience of marine and field measurements.
