Title:
PARAMETRIC AMPLIFIER
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2020/246112
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The present invention provides a parametric amplifier that does not require use of a Josephson superconductivity junction, the parametric amplifier being such that manufacturing thereof is relatively simple, and being usable as-is even in a magnetic field. The parametric amplifier comprises a coplanar-line superconductive resonator that includes: an oxide layer on a substrate; two ground lines formed from a superconductor layer, the ground lines extending in parallel on the oxide layer; and a signal line formed from a superconductor layer, the signal line extending between and parallel to the two ground lines with a prescribed gap from each of the ground lines, and parts via which signals are inputted and outputted being set apart from a body part and being capacitive-coupled. At a cooling temperature obtained with liquid helium, a microwave signal and a pump signal having a different frequency from the microwave signal are inputted to the input part of the signal line, whereby a high-frequency-amplified microwave signal is outputted from the output part.
