Abstract:
A box intended for permanently and securely fixing to an interior or exterior wall is for the purpose of safely posting / depositing mail, newspapers, parcels or any other items or material of suitable size. The box has a lid opening (2) which incorporates a mechanism featuring tray flaps (3) for depositing the material to be posted. The movement of the lid (2) allows the posted material to be dropped into the box as the lid lowers and opens the flaps. The material is non-retrievable through the lid opening as a result of the design of the tray flaps which close up again upon opening the lid. The mechanism also features an integral protective shield (5) for added security. The posted material is then retrievable only through a separate lockable opening (6) in the front of the box.
