A parking air conditioner and a control method therefor, which aim to solve the problem of existing parking air conditioners not being able to reduce manufacturing costs and use costs while still meeting requirements for quick cooling after starting. For this purpose, the control method comprises: acquiring an in-vehicle temperature and an outside temperature in real time; when the in-vehicle temperature - the out-of-vehicle temperature ＞ a first preset value, exchanging air between the vehicle and outside, and controlling the parking air conditioner to operate in an overfrequency mode; the first preset value is a positive number. By means of exchanging between the vehicle and outside, and controlling the parking air conditioner to operate in the overfrequency mode, when reducing the in-vehicle temperature to the same temperature, the time required by the present control method is shorter, and a cooling capacity provided by the parking air conditioner is also smaller, thereby meeting the requirements of rapid cooling, reducing manufacturing costs of the parking air conditioner and usage costs for the user, and optimizing user experience.
