Abstract:
Provided is a parking assistance device whereby parking location precision may be improved. A parking assistance device comprises: a steering angle sensor (4) which detects a steering angle δh of left and right front wheels (41, 42); a vehicle velocity detection unit which detects a vehicle velocity V; a trajectory control unit (54) which sets a steering angle instruction δh* and a vehicle velocity instruction V*; automatic steering control devices (electric-powered power steering (3) and an electronic control unit (5)) which automatically steer the left and right front wheels (41, 42) such that the detected steering angle δh approaches the steering angle instruction δh*; automatic vehicle velocity control devices (drive motor (1), electric-powered hydraulic brakes (2), individual wheel cylinders (21-24), individual wheels (41-44), and the electronic control unit (5)) which automatically control the vehicle velocity V such that the detected vehicle velocity (V) approaches the vehicle velocity instruction V*; and cameras (11-14) which visually recognize a parking space of a host vehicle. The parking assistance device parks the host vehicle in the visually recognized parking location with the automatic steering control devices and the automatic vehicle velocity control devices.
