Abstract:
A device for parking a vehicle in a parkable space even in the event of an obstacle being erroneously detected. An external recognition unit 11 of a parking assistance device 1 recognizes the road surface environment around a vehicle on the basis of detection information of an external sensor 4 installed in the vehicle. A display control unit 17 provides the occupants of the host vehicle, by means of screen display using an HMI device 2, road surface information indicating the presence of an obstacle on the road surface around the host vehicle, on the basis of the road surface environment recognized by the external recognition unit 11. A road surface information correction unit 16 corrects the road surface information and invalidates the obstacle. On the basis of the road surface information corrected by the road surface information correction unit 16, a parking path calculation unit 14 calculates a parking path for parking the host vehicle.
