Abstract:
The present invention addresses the problem of obtaining a parking assistant device capable of calculating a parking path suitable for the situation or need. A parking assistant device 1 according to the present invention: sets a plurality of connection candidate positions on a reverse path along which a user's vehicle leaves from a target parking position; calculates a first connection path through which it is possible to arrive at a particular candidate position; and calculates a first parking path using the first connection path and the reverse path. Moreover, the parking assistant device 1 determines whether or not the connection candidate position is present within a recognition range, and if not present within the recognition range, calculates a shortest turning-back position to which the user's vehicle is turned back forward and backward; calculates a second connection path through which the vehicle can arrive at the arbitrary connection candidate position from the shortest turning-back position; and calculates a second parking path using the second connection path and the reverse path. Furthermore, the parking assistant device 1 selects the second parking path as the parking path if the second parking path can be calculated, and selects the first parking path as the parking path if the second parking path cannot be calculated.
