Abstract:

A parking lock device for mounting on a transmission. The parking lock device can be installed in a transmission to be modified, with the modification of the structure of the transmission kept as little as possible, and is reduced in size. A first connection member (11) is spline-fitted to the rear end of an output shaft (1) of the transmission and fixed by a fixation nut (5), and further, a second connection member (12) is integrally joined to the first connection member (11). A continuous ridge/groove section (11C) is formed on the outer periphery of the first connection member (11). To set the parking lock device to a parking lock state, a claw (31A) of a parking pole (31) placed below the first connection member is engaged with the ridge/groove section (11C). Since the parking lock device is installed at the rear end of the output shaft (1), there is no need to modify a basic portion of the transmission to install the parking lock device. Also, because the second connection member (12) has an extension shaft section (12C) formed in the same shape as the rear end of the output shaft (1), a coupling joint (13) connected to the propeller shaft of a vehicle can be a common part independent of whether the parking lock device is mounted.
