Abstract:
An objective of the present invention is to provide a parking management system and method for control thereof capable of efficiently managing parking in a parking lot for automobiles. To cite an example of this parking management system, provided is a parking management system for automobiles being autonomously driven within a parking lot wherein an automobile management range is divided into a plurality of management segments, said system comprising: a movement route identification means that identifies a movement route from a departure position to an arrival position for a first automobile; and a management means that, if at least a portion of the first automobile is present in a first management segment among the plurality of management segments as the first automobile moves along the movement route, determines that the first automobile should have priority over another automobile in use of the first management segment and a second management segment that borders the movement route and that is to be entered by the first automobile immediately after the first management segment.
