Abstract:

Provided is a parking space search device, comprising an input unit and a control unit. The input unit receives, from an object detection unit which is mounted upon a vehicle, information relating to an object which is present to the side in the direction of progress with the vehicle as a reference. The control unit estimates a parking area on the basis of the information which the input unit has received. If the estimated parking area is to the left or right of the direction of progress of the vehicle, the control unit controls so as to shift the course of the vehicle to the opposite direction therefrom. The control unit searches for a parking space for the vehicle on the basis of information which the input unit has received after the vehicle has shifted the course thereof.
