Provided are a partial oxidation process burner and use thereof in a gaseous hydrocarbon reformer. The burner comprises a gasifying agent channel (1), an auxiliary gasifying agent channel (2), a fuel channel (3) and a protecting fuel channel (4) constituted by the outer wall (5) of the fuel channel (3) and the firebrick inner wall (6) of the barrel of the nozzle of the reformer which are sequentially arranged from inside to outside. The outer wall (5) of the fuel channel (3) is provided with small holes (7), and the number is greater than or equal to 2. The burner is used in a reformer and is capable of protecting the end surface of a nozzle from being flushed and ablated by high-temperature synthesis gas, the flame formed has a low temperature and is uniformly distributed, and the high-temperature flame is far from the end surface of the burner, the temperature of the end surface is low, so that the burner can be protected without cooling water for the burner, and at the same time, the temperature of the burner flange is low.
