Abstract:
A particle detection sensor (1) is provided with a projecting element (111) for projecting light to a sensing region (DA), and a light-receiving element (121) for receiving scattered light scattered by particles (2) from the light passed through the sensing region (DA) from the projecting element (111) and generating an electrical signal including a pulse-shaped waveform corresponding to the particles (2). The particle detection sensor (1) is also provided with a signal processing unit (20) for amplifying the electrical signal and detecting the particles (2) using the amplified electrical signal. The signal processing unit (20) amplifies the electrical signal by a first amplification factor when the flow of a fluid in the sensing region (DA) is at a first speed, and amplifies the electrical signal by a second amplification factor different from the first amplification factor when the flow of the fluid is at a second speed different from the first speed.
