Title:
PARTICULATE MATTER DETECTION DEVICE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2019/198689
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A particulate matter detection device (1) that comprises a sensor element (10) and a detection control part (50). The sensor element (10) has: a particulate matter detection part (3) that has a pair of detection electrodes (3a, 3b) on an accumulation surface (31) of a detection conductive layer (2a) that has a greater electrical resistivity than particulate matter; and a temperature compensation part (4) that has a pair of temperature compensation electrodes (4a, 4b) on a non-accumulation surface (41) of a temperature correction conductive layer (2b), the non-accumulation surface (41) being a surface on which particulate matter does not accumulate. The detection electrodes (3a, 3b) and the temperature compensation electrodes (4a, 4b) are connected to a shared ground terminal (13). The detection control part (50): detects a first output signal (Va) that is based on the electrical resistance (Rs) between the detection electrodes (3a, 3b); detects a second output signal (Vb) that is based on the electrical resistance (Rb) between the temperature compensation electrodes (4a, 4b); and calculates the amount of accumulated particulate matter on the basis of the differential output (V1) between the first output signal (Va) and the second output signal (Vb).
