Abstract:
A particulate including at least 45 wt% of a starch, wherein the particulate includes at least 7 wt% of a starch comprising a one or more types of partially decomposed starch obtained by subjecting a starch having an amylose content of at least 5 wt% to one or more types of processing selected from acid treatment, oxidation treatment, or enzymatic treatment, the water absorption rate after adding 40 g of water to 5 g of the particulate and allowing the water to be absorbed for one hour at 30°C is 250 wt% to 700 wt%, the rate of water separation by compression when a water-absorbed substrate having absorbed water for one hour at 30°C is compressed for 10 minutes at 30°C at a pressure of 141.5 g/cm2 is at least 7 wt%, and the content of particles on a sieve having a mesh size of 0.5 mm in the particulate is 40 wt% to 100 wt%.
