Abstract:
Provided is a passage detection system capable of, even when multiple gates are disposed adjacent to each other, determining the gate through which a user has passed and the movement direction of the user. This passage detection system detects that a tag is located on the entrance side of the gate upon reception of a response radio wave transmitted from the tag that has received detection radio waves from a first entrance-side reader and a second entrance-side reader, detects that said tag is located on the exit side of the gate upon reception of a response radio wave transmitted from the tag that has received detection radio waves from a first exit-side reader and a second exit-side reader, and detects the direction of movement of the tag on the basis of the reception results of the response waves from the tag.
