Abstract:
A passenger airbag device for a motor vehicle comprises: a main airbag which is deployed between an instrument panel and a passenger; and an auxiliary airbag which is connected to the front surface of the main airbag, facing the passenger, so as to protect the head of the passenger, and communicates with the main airbag such that gas coming from the inside of the main airbag flows into the auxiliary airbag. The auxiliary airbag comprises an extension portion protruding out of the inner side of the main airbag so as to prevent the head of the passenger from rotating while moving toward an impact side of the motor vehicle when coming in contact with the auxiliary airbag, whereby the head of the passenger can be effectively prevented from colliding with the center portion of the instrument panel.
