Abstract:

Provided is a passenger boarding bridge monitoring device with which the proximity state between passenger boarding bridges can be reliably detected. In one example of this passenger boarding bridge monitoring device, each passenger boarding bridge (1A, 1B) comprises: a rotunda (4); a tunnel section (5); a traveling device (9); a cab (6); a rotunda (4) rotation angle detection means; a tunnel section (5) length detection means; and a cab (6) rotation angle detection means. The passenger boarding bridge monitoring device comprises: a line calculation unit that calculates, on the basis of the detection values of the detection devices, the current position of a virtual line of one passenger boarding bridge, the virtual line extending outwardly away from an outline of the bridge on the side adjacent to another passenger boarding bridge and conforming to the shape of the outline, and the current position of a virtual line of the other passenger boarding bridge, the virtual line extending along or outwardly away from an outline of the bridge on the side adjacent to the one passenger boarding bridge and conforming to the shape of the outline; and a monitoring control unit that determines whether the virtual lines of the two passenger boarding bridges are in an intersecting state, and that executes a first approach suppression process if the intersecting state is determined.
