Abstract:
A passenger conveyor braking device comprising: a brake rotor; a core that is disposed to face the brake rotor; an armature that is disposed between the brake rotor and the core and that can move along the axis of rotation of the brake rotor; a spring that presses the armature in the direction toward to the brake rotor; an attraction coil that is provided on the core and that generates a magnetic force to resist the pressing force by the spring and to attract the armature in the direction away from the brake rotor when current is applied; and an electromagnetic coil that is provided separately from the attraction coil. The electromagnetic coil has an iron core that is provided on the armature and that extends in the direction of the core, a permanent magnet that magnetizes the iron core, and a coil body that is provided on the core and into which the iron core is removably inserted.
