Abstract:
Disclosed is a display device that can issue an effective alert if usage states differ between left and right lanes of a passenger conveyor. This display device comprises: a first display unit (7A) located on the left side and a second display unit (7B) located on the right side of an entrance (1) to a passenger conveyor; a control device (20) that controls the first display unit (7A) and the second display unit (7B); and a passenger detection means (8A, 8B) that detects passengers boarding the passenger conveyor. The first display unit (7A) and the second display unit (7B) display images showing information for passengers. Passengers board the passenger conveyor by passing between the first display unit (7A) and the second display unit (7B). The control device (20) estimates the congestion state of the passenger conveyor and inclination of passengers on the basis of a detection signal from the passenger detection means (8A, 8B). The image to be displayed by the first display unit (7A) and the image to be displayed by the second display unit (7B) are set independently according to the congestion state and the inclination state.
