Abstract:
When a door is in an open state, a passenger conveyor is reliably placed in a stopped state. A passenger conveyor safety device is provided with: a switch (2) disposed near the inside of an access opening portion of a passenger conveyor; a lever (4) disposed near the switch on a rear surface of a door (1) that opens or closes the access opening portion; and an actuation piece (5). The actuation piece (5) is disposed between the switch (2) and the lever (4). When the door (1) is in a closed state, the actuation piece (5) contacts the rear surface of the door and is positioned to release the switch (2) from being pushed in. When the door (1) is placed into the open state from the closed state, the actuation piece (5) is rotated as the lever (4) contacts the actuation piece (5) on the opposite side to the door (1), whereby the actuation piece (5) is positioned to push in the switch (2).
