Abstract:
A passenger conveyor that can be sufficiently reduced in the width dimension of a main frame, of course, and allows passengers to ride on with sufficient room despite the reduction in the width dimension of the main frame, eliminating the possibility of the baggage or the like hitting the railings when passengers get off. To this end, the passenger conveyor is so constructed that the teeth of main sprocket and a drive sprocket coaxial therewith having a treadboard chain entrained therearound overlaps a side frame, as seen in their vertical projective figures, the side frame constituting the main frame, and that the inner surface spacing between the right and left railings is greater than that of the moving handrails and in the longitudinal terminal ends of the railings the inner surface spacing made greater gradually approaches the spacing of the moving handrails.
