Abstract:
Provided are: a passenger detection system capable of promptly starting to detect the state of passengers aboard a vehicle, while being configured to detect the state of the passengers while the detection region is in motion; and a vehicle air-conditioning device equipped with the same. The passenger detection system (101) is equipped with: a state detection unit (131) for detecting the state of an object; a detection position change unit (132) for changing the position of the detection region, which is the region where the state detection unit detects said state; and a control unit (110) for controlling the operation of the detection position change unit. This passenger detection system (101) is configured in a manner such that after a start-up switch (141) provided in the vehicle is switched off, the position of the detection region stays in a prescribed initial position until the start-up switch (141) is switched on.
