Abstract:
[Problem] To provide an airbag device capable of appropriately restraining the head of an occupant riding in a passenger seat of a vehicle. [Solution] The present invention is an airbag device that is stored in an instrument panel of a vehicle to protect an occupant in a passenger seat, the device comprising: an inflator for generating inflation gas; and an airbag that inflates and deploys toward the occupant with the gas released from the inflator. The airbag includes: a main chamber that is connected to the inflator and that is positioned in front of the occupant who is seated normally when deployed; and a sub chamber that is connected to at least one side part of the main chamber. An inner vent through which the gas flows is formed in a boundary portion between the main chamber and the sub chamber. Further, a check valve which is capable of opening/closing the inner vent is provided.
