Abstract:
The present invention is related to a passive target acquisition system (1) and method (100) that enables the determination of the locations and distances of targets. The target acquisition system (1) according to the invention comprises; at least a imaging unit (2) which enables to capture and thus to display the visible and/or infrared light waves reflected from objects within an environment; at least an informing unit (3) that enables the transmitting of images sensed from a imaging unit as visible and/or audio images and enables to enter commands requested by the user; and at least a controlling unit (4) which enables the processing of images transmitted by the imaging unit (2) in accordance with the commands given by the user and enables to change the position of the Host (K) in order to obtain necessary data.
