Abstract:
A pearl-like decorative paper (10) which has a paper base material (1) and, formed thereon, a pearlescent ink layer (3) containing a pearlescent pigment, wherein, as the pearlescent pigment, use is made of a pearlescent pigment prepared by coating flaky foil pieces of mica with titanium dioxide and/or an iron oxide and further treating the surface of the coated mica with a hydrate of a zirconium oxide; a decorative paper with a higher degree of design further having a decorative ink layer (2) using an ordinary ink between the above base material and ink layer; and a pearl-like thermosetting resin decorative sheet (20) which is manufactured by impregnating the pearl-like decorative paper with a thermosetting resin such as a melamine resin, laminating the resulting paper with materials (6) to be attached thereto, such as a backing base material (4) and an overlaying paper (5), and subjecting the resulting laminate to the forming and the curing of the resin with heat and pressure. The above pearl-like decorative paper and thermosetting resin decorative sheet have such suitability for postforming that they are free from the occurrence of blistering or cracking due to postforming, although they have a pearl-like design.
