Abstract:
Disclosed is a pedal apparatus (1) for an automobile. The apparatus has a pedal (1.1) and a rotation mechanism used for rotatably adjusting the pedal (1.1), the rotation mechanism comprising a wrap-spring clutch (1.3) and a driving motor (1.4) used for unlocking the wrap-spring clutch (1.3), wherein when the driving motor is powered on, the wrap-spring clutch (1.3) is no longer effective, thereby making the pedal (1.1) rotate downwards under its own gravity; and when the driving motor (1.4) is shut down, the wrap-spring clutch (1.3) is active, thereby making the pedal (1.1) stop rotating downwards. Disclosed is an automobile having the pedal apparatus. The pedal apparatus for an automobile not only has a flexible arrangement but also has high operability.
