Abstract:
The invention provides a pedestrian attributes inferring device capable of inferring pedestrian attributes easily and inexpensively and of generating a vehicle approach notification sound based on the aforementioned inferred attributes, and a vehicle approach notification sound generating device using this. The pedestrian attributes inferring device according to the invention comprises: a map information storage section (6) that acquires map information including premises attributes, which are the attributes of prescribed premises; and a pedestrian attribute inference section (8) that infers pedestrian attributes, which are the attributes of pedestrians in the vicinity of the vehicle in which the device is installed, based on these premises attributes. Also, a vehicle approach notification sound generating device (1) according to the invention is a vehicle approach notification sound generating device (1) employing the aforementioned pedestrian attributes inferring device and comprises: a vehicle-external speaker (13) that outputs a vehicle approach notification sound that notifies pedestrians of the approach of the vehicle in which the device is installed; and an overall control section (11) that controls the output of the vehicle approach notification sound. The overall control section (11) controls the output of the vehicle approach notification sound in accordance with the pedestrian attributes inferred by the pedestrian attributes inference section (8).
