Abstract:
A pedestrian determination device comprising: a target detection unit that detects a target as a radar target, on the basis of reflected waves generated by radar waves being reflected by the target, said radar waves having been sent in the direction of progress of a vehicle; a likelihood calculation unit that, for radar targets detected by the target detection unit, calculates the likelihood that the radar target is a pedestrian traversing the direction of progress of the vehicle; and a pedestrian determination unit that determines whether or not the calculated likelihood is at least a pre-set threshold value and, if a determination is made that the calculated likelihood is at least the predetermined threshold value, determines that the radar target is a pedestrian traversing the direction of progress of the vehicle. The likelihood calculation unit reduces the likelihood for the radar target more when the radar target is detected as part of a target group having radar targets arranged at fixed intervals, compared to when the radar target is not detected as part of a target group having radar targets arranged at fixed intervals.
